We are delighted to once more deliver a Get Active event, on the sixth anniversary from our first event in September 2016. This year, our Get Active Family Cycling Challenge is being supported by EventScotland through the Community Cycling Fund.
Robbie Clyde, Head of EventScotland, said; “EventScotland is delighted to be supporting the Get Active Family Cycling Challenge through the Community Cycling Fund which is enabling opportunities for more people to enjoy the benefits of cycling through a range of events and activity as we move closer to the inaugural 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships. Events play an important role in our communities, enabling us all to connect, enjoy and share memorable experiences - having them in our calendar further strengthens Scotland’s position as the perfect stage for events.”
Cycle hub members, family and friends from all over the local community will be welcomed to register for this free event. Participants can choose from Orange (4 miles), Green (12 miles) or Black (20 miles) on this fully supported route. Volunteer marshals will encourage participants along and will enjoy refreshments and a free lunch at their destination.
Bike checks and some repairs will be available prior to the start. We will also have a fleet of bikes available for those who would like to participate but whose bike is currently not operational.
We will have music and entertainment at Event HQ as well as community information including Home Energy Scotland, Men Matter and Drumchapel Community Council.
Registration is a simple form. Participants are also welcome to register at the bike hub in person.
We look forward to seeing our friends and families soon for this exciting day!
